A GQ Collage Demo from JV's, February 2024

GrooveQuest and All had *such* a good time.

An earlier GQ Collage Demo

GrooveQuest is the band to enjoy...and employ!

Long Train Runnin' (The Doobie Brothers)

For years this tune was an untiltled instrumental jam. Famed producer Ted Templeton urged the Doobies to write lyrics.  It was recorded in '73 in North Hollywood, CA. Photographer/videographer Alan Kresse caught this at Hank Dietle's Tavern in January of '22.

Let's Stay Together (Al Green)

This title track from The Reverend's 4 album charted for 16 weeks in 1971.  What a Love song!  Thanks to Bill Langhorst for sharing this performance at JV's.

Smoke on the Water (Deep Purple)

Deep Purple's hard rock ballad from 1971 tells a real-life story of the casino fire during the last set of the Montreux Jazz Festival. (There were no injuries!)

(This is a snippet of our set at the Maryland Seafood Festival.)

Route 66

Nat King Cole celebrated the post-war availability of gasoline, tires and cars...and mobility with this huge 1946 hit.  It got everyone dancing too!

My Girl (The Temptations)

This 1964 "answer song" to Mary Wells' "My Guy" was the Temps' first No. 1 hit.

Maybe (The Chantels / Janis Joplin)

The Chantels 1957 recording of Maybe is #199 in Rolling Stone's list of "500 Greatest Songs of All Time."

Bonus Track!

Oye Como Va? (Santana)

Before her association with S&A Beads, Lisa participated in the gig economy, busking at DuPont Circle Metro.
